TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Sistem operasi terbaru dari Google, Android Kit Kat 4.4, akan diluncurkan 14 Oktober 2013 mendatang.  Berbagai spekulasi dan hasil tangkapan tampilan dan fitur terbaru OS ini pun tersebar.

Kabarnya, sistem operasi ini telah di-upgrade, termasuk fitur multi-user, tampilan keyboard, dan teknologi Bluetooth yang lebih canggih. Selain fitur terbaru, kabarnya Kit Kat dengan versi 5.0 bahkan bisa berjalan dengan baik pada perangkat berkekuatan 512 MB pada RAM.

Kabar lain mengatakan, Android juga bekerja sama dengan Linux 3.8 untuk menurunkan lahan RAM. Langkah ini diupayakan Google agar Kit Kat juga bisa bekerja dengan baik untuk ponsel Android yang lebih 'tua' dan berbagai perangkat Android lainnya. 

"Itu adalah tujuan kami agar semua orang bisa mendapat pengalaman Android yang menakjubkan ini," kata pihak Google, Senin, 7 Oktober 2013.

Dari hasil screenshot pada situs 9to5google.com, tampilan Android Kit Kat terlihat lebih
berwarna, dengan animasi API baru, dan notifikasi wigdet lebih dinamis. Kabarnya, pengguna juga diberi kebebasan untuk mengatur sendiri tampilan menu dan warna latar pada Android Kit Kat 4.4 ini.
